Tatsugo Town Homestay Program

This program was started in 2024 as part of an educational program, where participants can stay with local families and interact with, observe and experience the unique nature, culture, history, and traditions of the area. In order to improve the system for accepting participants, the public and private sectors have worked together to hold various training sessions for host families.

In addition to the homestay program, Central Sports staff will look after the  children and ensure their safety during the activities together with the local guides and host families. The homestay program will be handled through coordination between each host family, Tatsugo Town Hall staff (Administration Office), and Central Sports staff.

From 8 years old to 12 years old

*8 years old must be equivalent to Japan’s elementary school 3rd grade.

*12 years old must be equivalent to Japan’s elementary school 6th grade.

– Transportation: Haneda – Amami (Economy Class roudtrip ticket), 4 days bus fee

– Accommodation: 3 nights, 3-4 kids per house (3 breakfast, 3 lunch, 3 dinner included)

– Activity: Snorkeling, Canoe Cruising, Park Trekking (all with local guide)

– Cultural Experience: Homestay Program, Amami Traditional Culture  Experience (all with local guide)

– Personnel Fee: Tour conductor and Central Sports Instructor

Confirmation and Required Documents

* Please print the “Health Check Form” below and submit to the staff at the meeting place before departure.

* Please submit the “Allergy Notification” form (only if the participant has one) by June 14th (application deadline day).

1. For safety

By booking this tour, you acknowledge that the program you are participating in is an experience in the midst of nature under uncertain conditions, and that there may be dangers and unpredictable events. Unlike well-maintained amusement parks, you may encounter dangerous situations. For your safety, please be sure to tell your children to follow the safety precautions, instructions, and decisions given by the instructor, guide, and accompanying staff during the program.

2. About the daily natural conditions 

Depending on the daily weather and natural conditions, the course and content may be changed for safety reasons. In addition, even after the program has started, the guide may change the course or cancel the program midway due to a sudden change in weather.

3. Physical precautions

If you have any physical precautions for participating in each program, such as allergies, chronic illnesses, physical disabilities, or a history of being stung by a bee, please be sure to write them down on the “Health Check Form” that must be submitted on the day of departure, so that we can respond appropriately in the event of an emergency.

4. Use of Medical Facilities

By booking this tour, you agree to the transportation, treatment, and emergency response to a medical institution selected by a local company in case of an accident.
