Discover Yakushima

Yakushima Island is circular in shape island located in Kagoshima Prefecture. At its center stands Mount Miyanoura, the highest peak in Kyushu. The Yakusugi cedar trees, some over 1,000 years old, have grown slowly in a harsh environment, which is why they are so resilient and strong. From sea turtle nesting grounds on the coast to high-altitude wetlands, it is a rare island in the world where you can witness the diverse interconnectedness of living creatures.
■ Shower Climbing
Shower Climbing in Yakushima is a “Natural Water Slider” and “Wild Attraction” for kids to experience.

3. Encounter living creatures and crystal water!
The river water is incredibly clear, and you can sometimes see the fish swimming right near. The thrill of going to find a secret waterfall deep in the forest, in a place inaccessible on foot, makes you feel like an adventurer.
